Hello and Welcome!

I’m Dinah, jewelry designer, maker, and owner of Studio D Beads. In case you were wondering, the “D” is for Dinah.

It’s For You!

I create artful jewelry with an enchanting, unconventional vibe for collectors like you, who value creativity and self-expression.

As a creative person, you know your style reflects the way you choose to be seen in the world. And each day, you get to choose whether the jewelry you wear either coordinates or contrasts with the rest of your ensemble. I make that fun by offering pieces in ranges of bold, earthy, and minimalist styles, many of which can be worn day or night with the vast majority of your wardrobe.

Inspiration and Background

The inspiration for my designs comes from natural colors, shapes, and patterns. I live in a small house in a forest of tall oak trees atop a mountain ridge. We’re surrounded by nature and all its beauty and quirks. I love the process of translating that beauty and even the quirks to my jewelry.

My obsession with glass started in 2009 when I first discovered flame-worked beads. I found a beautiful stash of artisan glass beads in a shop in Asheville, NC and fell in love with them. I had to learn how these were made, because then I could make my own. My adventure with glass began as soon as I got home and found someone who could teach me the basics. I’ve since taken many workshops with veteran bead-makers from across the U.S.

More recently, I’ve incorporated enamels (another form of glass) into my work. After two years of studying online videos and tutorials, taking a virtual class combining enameling with soldered pieces, and lots of practice in the studio, I’m adding more enameled designs to my offerings.

What’s New?

Now, I’m combining my old and new skills to create jewelry that is both alluring and symbolic. My hope is that wearers can feel the meaning behind each piece when they put on my jewelry.

Look for my first glass and enamel jewelry collection in early 2025. In the meantime, my new Circles collection is available in the shop, as well as my my popular and colorful stud and dangle glass earrings. Take a look, and be inspired to show off your true colors - whether they are bold and bright or subtle and earthy; maybe it just depends on your mood if you’re like me.

…And did I mention the fairy garden charms? They are also sure to delight and inspire you!
